Chris Mehaffey Ride

Chris was a stalwart of the club (President, life member, driver of IM participation) and played a massive role in the lives of many. The ride is a chance for members past and present to get together, to remember Chris and also say g’day in a relaxed setting. So if you can help spread the word amongst old and new members that would be appreciated

An important club day, the annual Chris Mehaffey ride. This is a club/no-drop ride and will start at Henley Square, a loop around Outer Harbor and back to West Lakes for a coffee.  Many Lakers attend on Saturday wearing the Lakers colours in support of a club legend. (Free: Coffee sponsored by the Club)

“As many of you would know club life member Chris Mehaffey had a goal to achieve Legend status at Ironman Australia (10x Finisher) which he finally did in 2009 despite his battle with cancer.”

However, unfortunately he was never able to compete in his 11th race which would have provided him the opportunity to actually get to wear his legend number 228 (228th person to complete 10 Australian Ironman races).
